Currently, the ninety-eight pages of Alpinist 38 are being printed in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky. Over the coming weeks they will be bound and trimmed into Alpinist magazines; then they will begin their journey to your mailbox. Two of those pages contain the routelines for Issue 38's Mountain Profile, K2: Part II, and are the first significant routelines published in Alpinist since the Grand Teton Mountain Profile in Issue 33.

Any intern or editor who has compiled routelines knows that they require days of research and correspondence with first ascentionists in multiple languages, more research when inconsistencies are found and hours of tedious work moving lines to show perfectly every twist and traverse.
