What is wilderness? You talk about finding it in Africa, but in your article you mention that you were essentially in someone's back yard.

When you mention the word wilderness most Americans picture a vast landscape, without a single person in it. Yet we are privileged to have that view of land. Most other countries didn't restrict vast areas of land (and remove the people from them). If we are going to keep exploring [our world] we're going to need to change our perception [of wilderness].
