In Alpinist 33 John Burcham and Andrew Frost integrated their mastery of photography and prose to share the Arizona landscape they love. Frost describes a place “that always exceeds comprehension. Where you pause mid-pitch to consider the shadow beneath the falling block and think, for a moment, that you get it.” Though his pictures, Burcham expresses the nature and emotion of climbing at Sedona, but we at Alpinist wanted to let the the photographer, John Burcham, share his experiences in his own words. So we got him on the phone.
