What's unique about the climbing community out East? Another great thing about New England is that there's a whole host of hard people who are ready and willing to go climb with you. It's easy to grab someone else and tromp around to find these little smears. It seems everyone out East has a strong work ethic coupled with a desire to play hard. People are making a life for themselves where it's arguably hard to make a life, and the result is that hard-scrabble New England mentality. Climbers in the Northeast are burly. They go off and do these amazing things but without a lot of bravado, unlike some of the larger climbing communities in the West. And it's assumed that that’s how you're going to interact.
