The Grand Teton holds a special place in the psyche of American climbers. Wherever a climber who has been on the Grand goes, they will find others with a similar experience. Getting stormed off the Upper Saddle, a first summit via the Exum ridge or a quieter climb by a less popular route are experiences that many in North America can relate to. For these reasons Alpinist profiled the Grand in Issue 33. As part of our research we talked to artist and former GTNP ranger Dan Burgette about his experiences on the mountain.
