Joe Josephson is a fixture in the Bozeman climbing community. In 2004, he published Winter Dance, the first full-color, comprehensive guide to Hyalite. Since then he's been involved with the local climbers coalition and leads a (thus far) successful campaign to keep the Hyalite Road open year-round. Josephson also organizes the Bozeman Ice Festival, which celebrates its fifteenth anniversary this week. Putting his passion for, and knowledge of, Bozeman's ice climbing on record, he penned Alpinist 36's Mountain Profile: "The House of Hyalite." Click in to read more about Hyalite in this edition of High Camp.
