If you are new to Alpinist and interested in working with us, please send an email outlining the highlights and areas covered by your photographic collection. We prefer to preview images as low-resolution (72 dpi) jpegs. Send inquires and low-resolution jpegs to: submissions@alpinist.com We prefer to publish first international rights of all images. We ask that photographers communicate to Alpinist, at the time of submission, any previous or possible upcoming publications of the submitted work. We encourage contributors to submit relevant photographs; while we accept both black-and-white and color slides, we prefer original 35mm transparencies (slides), and our preference may dictate whether we use an image. Shipping Instructions and Terms When submitting photographs, please package professionally, enclosing slides in archival plastic sleeves and protecting images sent through the mail with proper cushioning. Please use a secure courier (Fed Ex preferred) when shipping film to Alpinist Magazine. Unless previously agreed upon in writing by Alpinist Magazine, we will not pay for the shipment of your submission to us. Alpinist will cover return shipping costs and will return work via Fed Ex Domestic 3-Day Economy or International Priority. If the above return terms are not acceptable, you must obtain permission for alternative shipping in writing from Alpinist prior to submitting your film. We routinely hold film in our files for up to three months before publishing; please notify us in advance if this is not acceptable. Upon completion of our editorial selection and other production work we will return all film promptly. It is the responsibility of the photographer submitting work to provide the proper return street address and phone number. We cannot return film or other materials to Post Office Box addresses.
