Regulators, Episode 9: Chasing the Unknown

"Chasing the Unknown," Episode 9 of the Regulators, takes you from the start of the ice season this year in October as my partners and I started hitting the hills in search of ice. It seems like every year we start searching earlier, yet we still expect to find ice somewhere. This episode gives you an armchair view of what our season has been like since the beginning of October to the end of December. We covered nearly 40 miles hiking, skiing and snowmobiling before our efforts finally began to pay off. A couple of first ascents and some rare ascents of incredible ice routes in Wyoming like Joy After Pain (WI5), The Booger (WI5), Pillars of the Community (WI5) and Do You Want It (WI4+) are featured in this video. —Aaron Mulkey
