Mt. Baker FatalityPosted on: July 8, 2011 On Mt. Baker (10,771'), Washington, a local search and rescue group found the body of a missing woman one day after her disappearance. When Sheryl Costello, thirty-four of Golden, Colorado, disappeared on July 2 she was glissading from the summit with her boyfriend down Heliotrope Ridge. The following day, at about 4:00 p.m., Bellingham and Skagit mountain rescue teams began a search, and found Costello's body 5,200 feet up the mountain in a moulin. This drainage is a known hazardous area and is located just west of the ridgeline she was descending. Source: bellinghamherald.com
