Guy Lacelle died in an avalanche on December 9, 2009, just weeks after the video footage here was released on DVD as part of The Continuum Project. Watch Alpinist’s video tribute to Guy Lacelle in the December 23, 2009 Feature.

The Continuum Project, a new climbing film shot entirely in high definition by Chris Alstrin, follows some of the world’s best climbing talent around the globe to document bold new routes and daring repeats on ice, rock, and in the alpine. Check out the full trailer here.

The film extends the focus of Higher Ground to gain new perspective on the motivations and courage of some of the world’s top climbers.

Alpinist will launch six shorts by filmmaker Chris Alstrin–available only on Alpinist.com–that give a taste of his new film. We’ve already released footage of a new route on Kwangde Shar (6093m) in Nepal’s Khumbu Himal.
