2007 Alpinist Film Festival to Take Place at Jackson's New $36 Million Center for the ArtsPosted on: January 17, 2007 Jackson, Wyoming - January 17th, 2007 - Alpinist Magazine is pleased to announce the 2007 Alpinist Film Festival, which will be held March 15-17, will take place at the new $36 million Center for the Arts in downtown Jackson, Wyoming. The Festival is slated to be one of the Center's first opening events. "Although our prior venue's were fantastic, they were unfortunately not in the heart of Jackson," said Festival Founder and Director Christian Beckwith. "With Jackson's new Center for the Arts, the Festival is literally surrounded by the city of Jackson and all that it has to offer." The Center for the Arts, working with the Town of Jackson and Teton County, is a 41,000 square foot arts venue whose theatre seats 525. The Center was constructed so that local arts organizations and artists were able to showcase their artistic endeavors to the community and visitors of Teton County, of which otherwise may have been impossible without the Center. Planning on the Center began in 1991 and has been an ongoing effort, construction of which is still in effect. advertisement
