The author, Pete Takeda, on the first ascent of the 600-foot Biggs' Crack, Hildale, Utah. Takeda says the grade could be anywhere from 5.11c to 5.12d. Danny Parker, who onsighted the second ascent with Ashley Cracroft, recalls, "This route pushed me mentally and physically beyond any other climb I've experienced, and for the second time in my life, I told myself I was quitting climbing."
