In the Civetta group Christoph Hainz added a fine and sustained all free route (5.12b, 450m) to the south face of Torre Venezia (2337m). The line climbs through the big series of overhangs in the center of the face left of the Tissi Route. Traditional protection was used throughout. In the Brenta Group Rolando Larcher made an all-free ascent of the 1964 Baschera-dal Bosco-Navasa Route on the east face of Cima Brenta (3150m). Via Verona (5.12d, 650m) climbs the steep red wall on the left side of the face; although only the middle 250 meters are difficult, some of the rock is loose. The route was originally climbed in over forty hours at 5.10a A3, and normally parties repeating the line still count on making a bivouac. Larcher, accompanied by fellow Italian Franco Cavallero, climbed the route onsight in eleven hours, leading every pitch.
